We managed to get our booth on the Jewelry Fair 2009 up and running. Really! (^_^) We had – like last year, so we can name it a tradition – so much trouble in both worlds (OF COURSE with ghosting of Olof for nearly 16 hours!), that we had no time at all to get ready in time.

Lucky enough, Olof had started our booth design very early this time and so we had an easy start with setting up our booth. I don’t like all this “self-praising”, which is an inevitable part of a successful business in SL and RL. You always have to say, that your stuff is stuffier (has nothing to do with stuffers) than everyone else’s. But this time I have to say I LOVE OUR BOOTH! (^_^) Look, look!

Our baby (booth): If you teleport with this SLURL you will land in the auction area, which is formed like an “U”. If you fly over the hedge in direction of the open side of the “U”, you’ll be in seconds in front of our booth (#7).

Okay, so what do we offer?! Like last year the half of everything goes to charity, this year Oxfam is the supported organisation:

All our products there have our new scripting system “Facette” inside. The modules it offers (from resizing to texture change, full bright and glow toggle, script removing and so on) differ, so it is important to read, what is written on the vendors. This is the defined minimum. It may happen, that you’ll find more buttons in the menu of the jewelry piece, but never less. There are DEMOs for all items so you can grab them, try them out and come back, if you like and let all your hard earned money with us… (^_^) Even there at the Fair you can buy TRANSFER or COPY versions.

The big sister of a jewelry set, many of you already know:

The little book works like a locket, but the inside is not a picture, it is a fully primmed little garden. The well even has floating water inside, and there is a little great tit sitting on its brim. (^_^) (Facette-Modules: resizing, opening and closing of the book, putting an own texture behind the window in the little house, script removing (removes only the resizing scripts, the open/close and texture function will work)

… includes a two-part daisy hair wreath, a daisy barrette and a daisy hair comb. (Facette-Modules: differs a little from piece to piece, resizer for the wreath, metal change for the hair comb and color change of the daisy’s blossom leaves for all. Of course full bright toggle for all, too.)

The recoloring module is something we are very glad about. It doesn’t need a HUD, it doesn’t take aeons to choose the color you wish, and it doesn’t constrain the possible colors.

We do of course offer a Freebie, too. The Freebie set “Hortensia” was split up in two boxes. On the Fair you’ll find the earrings, in our sky shop the matching necklace:

Even these Freebies come with Facette and give you the opportunity to choose from 18 blossom, 4 metal, and 9 pearl textures, toggle the full bright, glow, resize the necklace, remove the scripts and hopefully gives you an impression of some of Facette’s abilities.

And at the end – yes, we managed it to give an item to the Charity auction. To give you the opportunity to look at it in 3D and not only to see a plain texture of it, we built a… something in the shop. The necklace is there rotating and you can come and click the item to see, how it can be configured. Maybe you like it so much, that you would like to do something for the charity and get this one-of-a-kind item. (^_^)

Just a short note: We are looking forward to the greateastest, most spectacularest Jewelry Fair ever in our shop’s history. Eolande Elvehjem, Siyu Suen and other brave companions did take the challenge and organized an event, that will take part from 18th-27th of September 2009. It will be located on two Sims and we have – if I remember it correctly – over 130 exhibitors.
.o( o_O No, we don’t panic at all with all those artists around. Nope. *hides under a pebble*)

We really hope, the lag is on vacation on those days and you can have a lot of fun with the jewelry as well as the booths and all the other attractions like:

• Dunk Tank – dunk a Jeweler (or a Linden!) for charity
• Kissing booth – kiss a Jeweler for charity
• One of a kind auctions – bid on original jewelry pieces never to be owned by anyone else on the grid
• Jeweler resources area – how to make your own jewelry!
• Demonstrations and classes on jewelry making (schedule handed out at the fair)

We had a lot of family stuff to deal with, so we sit here with a lot of unfinished projects, which had to wait for weeks and months and hope to get at least some of the things done, we want to show.
To bribe our group members to bear with us and visit the Expo (and our humble little booth. >_<) we sent out this little jewelry set:

It’s equipped with our new scripting system “Facette”. A short manual is in the box, the epic explanation will soon be published here.

Okay, okay. We are not really fast with our blog updates. But you should see the good will. -_- (At least we are doing it at all, if I think about our desperate trials to keep our RL related blogs alive… Nah, I don’t want to think about it! :/)

Again the summary of our last two releases (13th of July and 7th of August) in one entry:

The FDC-board has been updated with the free “Bunny Slippers”, a turtle necklace for the male avatar, called “Happy Turtle” *__*, free modifiable male shapes and “Peep”, a set of diamond stud earrings.

The new Dollarbie is a simple leather choker named “Trias” for the male avatar. And we offer an Onyx ring for the gentlemen called Nyx for a Linden-fiver. You see the tendency? Right, we want to integrate this underjeweled species a little more. ^__^

The other FDC newcomers are two sets of a cross necklace colored in red/green/blue and in white/grey/black. They are a creation of Olof and therefore they ended up with a – let’s call it – technical name: “4fifteen”. Explanation for the name is in the box. :B

“Starrywood” and “Smooth” are both bracelet sets, but “Smooth” comes with additional matching necklaces for the bracelets. “Honey” is something for the noble Lady. ^_^ Gold and Diamonds form little bees and wait to adorn your ears, forearm and finger. Maybe the just mentioned Lady will find joy in the “Sparse” set, too. It’s a pearl necklace and earrings set and I guess, the name describes its design adequately.
Near the FDC board you’ll find a mysterious box tower. Those boxes are the members of “23″, a bundle of 23 different earring pairs. You can buy them individually or bundled. And there are of course Demos for all of them available.

With “Chastity” and “Colorful Beads” we made two (three) bigger Releases. Chastity is a cameo style necklace, scripted for resizing and cameo texture change. Made from “Colorful beads” are a wood bead necklace and matching earrings. You get them separately. Both pieces offer the possibility to choose from 27 different textures. The majority of colors single-colored, but there are some selected pattern textures, too.

Last but not least, we had “Hemera” as a group gift. It is the Turquoise variant of “Nyx”, the men’s ring shown above. And a red flower variation of one of our “23″ earrings, called “Morning Dew” is now available in our Lucky Chair.

March 2009 Life hit my (Manya’s) family quite hard, which I shared to some extent with our subscriber group. I experienced a lot of positive reactions, many very nice people tried to convey comfort. And I’m very thankful for their words and the things and thoughts they gave me. As a consequence of these personal circumstances, we stayed away from SL for months and logged in only from time to time for customer support and to answer some IMs. The situation is not better than some months ago, but in June we decided to try a gentle comeback.

The results of our new work have meanwhile been published in two messages to the group. I’ll collect those two release packs here in one blog entry:

Four bigger releases adorn our walls as new vendor posters. A velvet choker with a big central cabochon stone available in six colors in combination with two different silver frames (darker and lighter silver), which is called “Glimpse of Hope”.

Then we now offer a long necklace in two variants with matching bracelets with the functional name “Brocade”. The specialty is the selfmade brocade fabric, that came out surprisingly real (at least in my viewer ^__^).

The next big release is a whole jewelry set (earrings, necklace, bracelets, wristwatch), made of sculpted leather pillow like elements and pearls and silver. It has a really strong appeal and this is the reason for it’s Swahili name “Imara”. Due to it’s nature it’s available in a bronze-brown and a black color.

The fourth release is the texture change bracelet (i.e. three bracelets) ‘Midas’. You’ll find – even if it’s called ‘Midas’, like the king, who transformed everything he touched into Gold – a Bronze and Silver bracelet in the package, too. You can choose per touch script menu, between 18 predefined gem texture combinations. (This means you have 18×3=54 bracelets in this package. *_*) Of course we offer a resizer in this bracelet.

Last but not least we have to mention, that we participated again in a NCI hunt. This time for the occasion of Second Life’s 6th Birthday. (Does this mean, the Kindergarten time of SL is over now?)
The organisator Caillaigh Elfenbeim did a great job to organize the hunt in nearly no time. We speed-built our contribution under the losely given theme “Forward – into the 19thcentury” and it’s called “Victoriana”. You may guess why:

On 24th of June there was another occasion, which did not result in a grid wide party or a hunt, but in a little gift on an easel for our visitors. We celebrated (very still) our Second Second Life rez(z)day and gave a special textured version of the above mentioned “Brocade” set to our people. Which will be the last picture for this blog entry:

In the meantime since our last blog entry we had two release notes to our group.

The NCI shamrock hunt celebrating St. Patrick’s Day started! We are one of the 42 shops, which participate and we placed a little shamrock out in our shop, too. You’ll find two boxes in it. One for the male and one for the female avatar. A little earring and necklace set for the Ladies and a celtic cross necklace for the Gentlemen.

The St. Patrick’s Day also left it’s footsteps in our Lucky Chairs. The “Scent of Clover” is the name of a little spring dress, that we – so far – created in three colors. Two for the Lucky Chairs and one as a group only gift. The last is as its name suggests very volatile. That means, the dress will not be stored in our subscriber kiosk’s archive.
And then we have a nice little clock in the chair to be worn on the finger. It’s a special Lucky Chair Edition of our new “RingClock” set.

The whole RingClock set was released together with a – in my opinion – cool and relaxed digital designer wrist watch called “teknologi-c”, and the necklace version of our alarm clock “Wilbur”. This little Wilbur is called “Wilma” and is fully functional exactly like “Wilbur” it only has the big advantage, that you don’t need land to put it out. A chaste chest should be enough… :B

This post’s non-clock releases are two jewelry sets that had been in the works for quite some time and have been completed NOW. “Glowing for you” had its premiere in the last weeks in our Lucky Chair. And is now available in 8 subtle color variations. “Celestial Connection” features a moon/star theme. A special earring style of the latter is to find in our Lucky Chairs.

The FDCboard got its updates too, with a “Hippie” tendency. A Yin-Yang necklace, a friendship bracelet stack and – not so “Hippie”, more “cute-goth” (does something like this have a proper name?) – our new edition of the caged heart, we once had on our FDC board.

So, and now I have to dig into my NCI shamrock hunt treasures…

And not only 2009, no, nearly March now. That shows clearly, it’s a long time ago, that we posted our shop’s updates here. We had a lot of personal “involvement”, and so we didn’t find the time and energy to create or comment something.

Now that this time of suffering is over, we made the whole update trip through the shop’s categories. I.e. we updated the FDC board, the Lucky chairs, had two big releases AND remodeled the shop a little bit. I guess it is this “new Year, new luck” feeling. Or the rise of the spring.

One of the consequences of our rebuilding is a little longer way between the FDC board and the Lucky Chairs. But we won some place and prims for the first and so we can keep more of the products available. (Only the Seasonal Freebies will rotate and have to retire after a certain time span.)

New on the (now bigger) Freebie panel:

First of all for Mardi Gras (was on 24th of February) a necklace with matching earrings called ‘Mardi Gras Grapes’.

Then we put our ‘Sakura Twigs’ on the Board. Cory Hancroft from ‘Bejambled Skins’ left Terra Nexus and is now in Ivy Falls and so our hair accessory became homeless. Now it resides in our Mainstore. Kind of promotion for the little blossoms.

The third item on the 0L$ panel is a set of transferable bracelets. We called them ‘Namaste!’. They are inspired from indian bracelets and we asked Rainbow Drake,  if we may put her ‘Namaste!’-animation inside our Freebie box, and she was so kind to allow us to do so.

The Dollarbie section was extended with a very tender native american inspired necklace and earring set. Here you can see: ‘Evening Breeze’

On the Cheapie panel we have two new items so far. Diamond-Silver earstuds called ‘Fleur’. And a pearl necklace, which has a color change script inside to choose from 21 basic colors with the name  ‘Endless pearls’.

The big releases this time are the sets ‘Tahitian Princess’ and ‘D&G Leaves’ (the D&G stands for Diamonds & Gold, not for something else ).

The latter is – let me call it – foliaceous jewelry, it is created around a “leave” theme. These both are situated in the new built left wing of the sky shop to the right of our FDC board. You can’t miss it.
You can choose from the vendors, what you like: single items, subsets or the whole collection. I hope, the arrangement of the vendors is self explaining and I don’t have to put headlines above them.

Both sets will be complemented in the future with matching bracelets and rings. If you are fast than you can grab one of those future rings for free (matching the set “rolling”). It’s hidden in the DEMO of this jewelry packs and looks like this:

Then we changed the Lucky Chair items, you can now win:

(1) The parts of the jewelry set “Glowing for you”. It consists of jade-colored green diamonds and silver earrings, a necklace and the matching ring.

(2) these little heart earrings

(3) a Mardi Gras themed necklace with a Jester Hat pendant

The group gift this time was an unscripted Mardi Gras version in green/purple/yellow of the above mentioned “Endless Pearls”.

The next day after this big pack of changes, we had some other releases, but this will be the next entry.

Yesterday was again time for another “global” update. We released some new jewelry items, updated the Freebie-Dollarbie-Cheapie-Board (FDC Board) and the Lucky Chairs, had an announcement and sent out a groupgift. Now for the details:

Releases

Four new jewelry sets now decorate the walls. “Rising sun” is LOW ARC jewelry with a pair of earrings and a matching choker. Gold, silver or bronze metal combined with tiny colorful beads. The choker is resizable per touch script. It has a little touch of native american jewelry. The whole set is not only low arc, it is low price as well and you can choose from a lot of colors.
The second set is called “Heart Noveau”. It is one set scripted to change size and the two “gems” colors (21 possibilities) . This set is made only of blank and transparent texture and color, and you’ll find two versions in the package. One full bright and one not full bright.
Then we have “Floret”. Tiny cateye like gems in combination with a spiral silver wire. It looks very tender and delicate and comes in four “flavours”. The tiny gems are full bright and you can change the size of the necklace and bracelets. Two variants of the latter are in the package together with earrings a belly button piercing and the before mentioned necklace.
The last new release is “Nostalgia” a diamond set with a floral accent. The choker (resizable of course) and the studs are full bright and made of gold with green diamonds.

Lucky Chair

The Lucky Chairs were updated with “Lucky Chair only” jewelry. You may wonder, why we have two jewelry sets (Bubbles “Old fashioned”) two times on the wall and in the Lucky Chairs. Christmas is near, and the most people want to GIVE. With a copy only item it is a little bit complicated to GIVE in Secondlife, isn’t it? So we put the same jewelry one time with TRANSFER and then with COPY permissions in the Lucky Chair. You can win COPY for yourself and TRANSFER to have a nice present for adored one. This possibility won’t last very long, so use it, especially because the “Old fashioned” Sets in Silver and Red will never come back.

The other Lucky Chair items are a Fabergé egg inspired studs set called “FIS”, a special version of our “Gravitation annulée” necklace with a fantasy stone, that we called “Primalith” and a little Fall outfit called “Moose Wool Outfit”. It looks so warm and cozy, I want to have one in real life.

FDC Board

The FDC Board got it’s updates too. You can find now the following items on the panels: The matching bridesmaid bouquet for the Silverrose Wedding Outfit for 0L$. The silver variant of the Lucky Chair Studs ‘FIS’ for 0L$, a very mystic unscripted jewelry set, most probably the kind of gift, your alien friend from Alpha Centauri would bring to you. And if you don’t know someone from Alpha Centauri, you can buy it for only 1L$ in our shop. The fourth FDC item is a pair of simple dice earrings for 10L$

Announcement and Groupgift

And (almost) last but REALLY not least we have to announce, that you can buy a bunch of our products now at a second place in Second Life:

We have a corner upstairs in the Shop of Cory Hancroft at “Bejambled Skins”. Downstairs you find Cory’s Skins and *Shapes by Kira*. The shop is still expanding, but come and take a look and try all the Demos of her Skins and our Jewelry of course . Here we have some impressions for you:

She put some free Skins and eyes out and we made a special free hair accessory to go with her Sakura Skin, that is only available at “Bejambled Skins” at Terra Nexus:

The “Glowing Bloom” ring you can see in this picture, was our yesterday’s group gift. A big scripted (touch menu) diamond ring. You can change the color of the diamonds (21 colors), parts of the metal (3 textures) and the amount of glow.

Seasonal Freebie

Ah, and something we nearly forgot to mention. In the first days of November we released our “Seasonal Freebie” for the Halloween Season: Our “Queen Moth”. A royal outfit with buffon sleeves, a crystal necklace and crown and two pairs of fast flattering moth wings. And of course all the other things like shoes, pants, shape, hair, skins…

Okay, NOW we’re done.

On the last day of the Jewelry Expo we put out some little things for shop and group. There was our Steampunk seahorse, one of the huge amounts of ideas for the aquatic themed Expo, which did not make it into the booth. So putting it out was a kind of closure of this whole experience, at least for this year. The second thing was a bracelet, that I “invented” when I was very young in SL and experimenting, what makes jewelry in Secondlife glistening and look like made of diamonds and crystals and so on. The “Fence” bracelet, which has its name from the architecture of the used prims, did a very subtle glistening – at least in my client – and so it seemed worth to not get lost in or deleted from my inventory. And god, a LOT got lost since then.

The third and last was our group gift. Okay, a big public Holiday – SL HALLOWEEN PANIC!!! – was approaching fast and so we decided to give a glimpse of that and distributed a little, delicate spider necklace to the group.

After this minimal release we had to take all our power and focus to deal with a real life “event”, and when we survived this we started the workaholic interlude with the 31th of October in mind, which meant of course a new Halloween Seasonal Freebie (which we are still working on, hehe. But isn’t Halloween for a lot of people to be celebrated the whole year? For some of us is Halloween each damned morning, if they look undercaffeinated into the mirror of the fluorescent tube-illuminated bathroom and… not that I would know one personally… but I think I deviate from the subject) and the retirement of the old Halloween witch outfit.

The Halloween Shop Update itself consisted of: one update round on the FDC Board with a free ghost necklace, a dollarbie multifunctional mushroom, a flying pumpkin as a fun attachment and a new shape. The last mentioned is the modifiable version of the shape, which will be part of the before mentioned next Seasonal Freebie. The shape in the Freebie package will be COPY only.

The Lucky Chairs were updated, too. With two little outfits, a Halloween version of our spider clock brooch and the matching earrings for the free ghost necklace.

The next change in the Lucky chair will probably be soon, because they are so seasonal. So hurry, if you want to grab the prizes.

This time we gave a not so halloweenish group gift to our subscribers: a purple/violet unscripted pre-release of the upcoming “Synapsis” jewelry set.

Last year, when we were fresh and quite newborn in SL, the fate blew us to the first SL Jewelry Exposition and we were amazed and stand there with avatar eyes wide open and could not believe, that something like this was possible. Now only one year later, we are exhibitors at the second SL Jewelry Exposition. Isn’t this fantastic?

This year the exposition has an “aquatic theme”, and we LOVE it. The decoration of our booth, the charity items and freebies in the booth and of course our charity auction contribution are made with this in mind.

The organisator is again Miriel Enfield. How do they say: never change a winning team, even if it is a one-woman-team. And she did – as far as we can see – an amazing job again. I guess, she has a direct connection to the Akasha field. If not, I don’t know where she can take this amount of energy and clear view from, to manage such a project alone.

The booth contains two Freebies, which are only available at the SLJE. One is a functional SL time wristwatch. It is designed as a souvenir with the “Jewelry Exposition 2008″ writing on the wristband and as engraving on the case. Something to remember and therefore with the fancy name: ‘Slim Clock JE08′ or “Expo Watch’ . And this watch is NOT only a ladies watch, it is resizable to a size, where it easily goes through a metamorphosis to an elegant men’s watch.
The other booth Freebie is a gold and diamond jewelry set with earrings, necklace and a bracelet called ‘Neptun’s Treasure’. It has some little tridents on it, that’s why…

The other items in our booth are made for charity, 50% of the proceeds will go via Miriel Enfield to Heifer International. These items – except one – are special versions of the regular product line in our shop, but in their colors or textures unique and will only be sold at the Expo.

The first item is the jewelry set ‘Antique’ Waterside.

This is a special blueish version of the Antique series, which again is part of a family of Jewelry sets, i.e. ‘Antique’, ‘Innocence’ and ‘Sophistication’.

The next item is a special version of Necklaces with two carefully wired stones, called “Gravitation annulée”. For deeper explanation of this name please IM Olof Whitfield. And NOT Manya McMahon…

Another limited item is the special edition of one of our ‘Bubbles’. The ‘Bubbles’ are a family of Jewelry again and come in the flavours “Old fashioned”, “Cascades” and “Fraîches”. The last is the origin of the booth item and of our last group gift, too.

The fourth of the limited items is a pack of earrings and bracelets using the style of our “Africa” set, which we talked about here. Because of the aquatic theme, we decided to cover the bracelets with snake and crocodile skin. Of course faux snake and crocodile skin.

But not only the booth is of interest, there is also a treasure hunt going on until 11th of October. We are not sure, how much items you can find there, but three items come from the House of Primalot *hmm… should think about a name change*. These are a set of acrylic glas bracelets with starfish and shells, sculpted dolphin earrings and a necklace with a fish version of the YinYang Symbol, called “Tao of the Sea”.

And last but not least we made a last-minute-contribution for the charity auction the Exposition will include. The set of earrings, necklace and bracelets is called ‘Liquid’ Water and this item will be unique in the sense of being the only one in the grid. Take a look if you like:

Before the big-big-release entry for the Second Life Jewelry Expo will overwhelm you, here a little addendum from the time BEFORE. Ante Expositionem, so to speak.

We released a retro inspired set of necklace, earrings and bracelet. The ‘0h’-Set. We have to mention, that the “0″ is not a big “o”, but a Zero. OMG, are we cool….*cough*

And as we announced in the last blog entry, we now have the new “Simple Watches” on the wall. (These are the first items, we used our new scripts in to make certain of our products more customizable)

As you can see, a lot of colors to choose from. And unisex. And resizable. And well-priced.
( Okay, we are still learning this self-praise-thing. So we start with modesty in our teasers and work us up to the more self-confident vocabulary like beautiful, stunning, georgeous, breathtaking … you know, what I mean…)

New on the FDC-Board with the Jewelry Expo and the cARCastrophical* Lag at the HairFair in mind is a prim hair called Nicola** with as less lag as possible. For a prim hair of course. We made some more styles, and we’ll drop them in the world piece-by-piece. The second new FDC-entry is our earring set “Cherrish!”. The earings are a little bit more special than it seems. We placed two tiny invisiprims in the studs, so that – if you are near enough – you can see, that your Avatar has…piercing holes. Woot. Something the world was waiting for, right?

And… tatata… it happened again:

Two whole sets of Bernadette are hidden in the shop. If you find the little wooden treasure boxes, you can buy them for 0L$. They will stay in the shop until 23rd of October. But it could be possible, they move a little around from time to time.
