Nearly in the Present now (writing this on 19th of July)!
Last weekend we had again one of those completely reworked items for the 60L$ WE. “Hortensia 2.0″ was really a heavy bit of work. It once consisted of blossoms made from (our selfmade) sculpties, but now had to be reworked to use only regular prims. One blossom once needed 1 prim, now it needs 4. But I don’t want to bore you with my beefing around, so here is the picture:

It comes like always with a huge amount of texture change options, you can see it in this quite crowded chart:

This blossom overload was accompanied by the absolute contrast. The group gift was this barely noticeable ring (if it was a fish you had to throw it back into the sea) named “Hortensiculum”:

The strange thing is, when you visit our shop at the moment you’ll be quite sure: They are creators of “fine jewelry” because this is the category you would put most of our jewelry in. At least the part you can see in our shop. But this is like an iceberg phenomenon. I have an incredibly big amount (include aching obese inventory sounds here) of pieces from the past waiting to be reworked, half ready new designs and almost ready new designs. And I’m sure nearly one third of it would be called “dark” or “rocker style” or “gothic”. But these pieces do always turn out to be complicated. Something always happens, that lets me push them deeper into the “to do” stack. And so to speak our jewelry iceberg has a glowing white tip, but the big big part you can’t see is black! BUT. On 9th of July we managed to put something in the shop again, that easily falls into this category.
And it easily falls into the category of jewelry, that drives you insane. At least if you try to do a CLEAN prim work with REGULAR prims to create shapes, that every healthy human being would just take a sculpted prim for. But this self centered sado-masochistic nature of me led to this:

And to stay in the theme, the group gift for that weekend were two little necklaces with vampire teeth/fangs.

Let’s hope that this is the begin of a new era in creating “darker” jewelry here in PRIMALOT.

3rd of July 2011, meh, 5th of July to be honest

The last weeks our Internet connection was such a slow, terrible, chaotic, non existing … “Internet connection”, but the 3rd and 4th of July it was even worse.
We managed only being online for seconds, then it all broke down…

Wouldn’t be that much of a problem, but if you can not go online to send a 4th of July gift out on 4th of July, it is very annoying and leads to early frown lines. But did we give up? No! Were we independent from calendars and deadlines?! Haha, YES! I say so. And therefore we absolutely shamlessly sent the 4th of July gift to our subscribers on 5th of July! As our personal Independence day gift!

It was our first 4th of July gift ever and because we were aware of the not so few Non-Americans in our group, we decided to design it in a way, that makes it wearable even for those not celebrating this day.

I have to say, the little necklace is not that bad, and I’ll probably convince my personal scripting god Olof to make a texture change version from it and put it in the store.

Muhahahamuhaaa…

Mmhh… a fresh post. On 25th of June we released via 60L$ weekend a completely reworked version of our old “Gravitation annulée” set. “Gravitation annulée 2.0″: desculpted, resripted, retextured, redesigned… fresh smelling like this post.

The textures were not few and to make it easier for the customer, we put a texture chart picture in the package:

The matching ring was sent out as a group gift.

And there was something more this time. It was the 25th of June. That’s one day after 24th of June! (You can be impressed now!) And you know what that means? REZDAY!!! Yep, Olof Whitfield and me, Manya McMahon, celebrated our fourth rezday and therefore put out a little gift for our subscriber group. A little bracelet with a floral appeal, texturechange of course. The next day we put another gift right beside the first, the matching hairband with the same scripted options.

Ah, and last but not least, since 15th of June we participated in a hunt again. Again organized by the makers of the Pot O’Gold hunt in March 2011.
This hunt was called the Nevermore Summer Solstice Hunt and we hid a bright sun (the hunt item package) with two necklaces inside. One for the female, one for the male Avatar, “Nebra” made inspired by the sky disk of Nebra:

Ah, I can feel my bones hurt, now sitting here since what felt like days and refurbish our blog at least in terms of content. But I can see the horizon already! (Or is it just a Fata Morgana?)

Okay, 11th of June. The great day of revealing a new (to us) feature in our jewelry: LOCKET functionality! Maybe a known and not that exciting thing for other creators, but it nearly burnt our brain. We had to incorporate the new feature in our Facette system and find a solution, that lets the people interact with it in a not too complicated manner.
The piece wearing this mutated gene in our Facette, has the name:

“Treasured”.

The necklace with the locket function was our 60L$ offer that weekend and the matching earstuds (meanwhile regular release in store, and with no locket function in the erstuds!) were sent to our group for free.

Because all the pieces have again a wide variety of textures available, we decided to put a texture chart for better overview inside the package:

This time we offered “Glowing for you” strictly speaking “Glowing for you 2.0″, because the design already existed in our shop a long time ago, but used a simple resize script, had no built in texture options, was built with sculpties, shininess and texture animation. Then it was pimped up and is now much better than ever before. \o/

And another familiar companion joined us on this day, our groupgift for that weekend.
Pimped up the same way as “Glowing fo you”: our good old “PowerFlower” necklace!
Now with texture change options and the usual Facette features!

And talking about “familar”. We used that weekend to extend two of our sets already in the shop. The “Genesis” and the “Lumina” set each got new members, a ring for Genesis and a ring and two bracelets for Lumina.

And the group gift, we had some weeks ago with the Apatites in it, was now out in the shop as a small very affordable jewelry set, with the typical Facette options including texture change for Gems and Metal!

This was such a day, too, were everything was against us *whining* and so we missed the deadline for the Sixty Linden Weekend. But the pieces were ready and wanted to be released. So we decided to put the set out as a 59L$ offer:

Keera is a smooth fashion jewelry kind of … jewelry. This quite LOD resistent set is again made only from regular prims, but we tried to make some more “organic” shapes this time. Scripted of course to change a lot of features. Including a huge amount of Zebra stripe textures.

To let our subscribers get an impression, what is possible, we decided to give them one of the bracelets in this set as a group gift:

We were quite lazy at this time. No, that is not true, it was RL, if I remember it correctly. We were lazy inworld, laying around like wet bags over a fence, because RL sucked a lot of power from us. And we used SL to relax and make nearly to nothing.
Therefore we decided, the first time ever, to put something in the 60L$ event, that was already released. The Midas cuffs I was and am really proud of. We decided quite late to be in the event and therefore I had to throw the application in the last minutes before the deadline. And to be honest, that’s the way the advertisement picture looks like, hehe:

Something I had played around seemed to be a nice group gift and so this was sent to our subscribers via SL aether:

Hope, you can see it on the picture, it is a little elephant pendant covered with tiny diamonds.

And – what is very paradox if I think about it – we even managed to have a new Freebie in store from then. A set of two barrettes for our customer’s silky hair.

Again a 60L$ offer, this time, with the season in mind, we created a statement jewelry set inspired by a handful of RL necklaces. Thought as a spring set, but with a bit of summer in it.
“Springhassprung” consists of a lot of pieces. Pieces of this certain kind let you tend to just decide, aehm, I just go and shop some sculptmaps! But with our ambition of “scupltie freeness” we clenched our teeth and finally: There it was. \o/

It is of course scripted to change a looooot of parts with a looot of textures, it has of course the usual full bright, glow, show root toggle. Of course is it resizeable etc.pp. But this time we added a “Fake shadow” toggle on top to the necklace.
It is a kind auf traumatic experience for me, I use such an old, slow and b*tchy notebook, with an even slower graphics card, that I even can’t go inworld with the new viewer (V2) without crashing. Now imagine, what would happen to my senior calculator machine, if I’d try to render “real” shadows. *le sigh* And therefore for me and all those like me: A toggle-able fake shadow inside.

Nearly a month later we came back. Now again participating in the “Sixty Linden Weekends”.
This time we put in this set of three rings, called “Cipolla”:

This set includes 3 different styles of a “layered” ring design (Therefore this incredible creative name, meaning “Onion”).
Like always NO sculpties, like always scripted to change a lot of features, including the textures. It is available in the shop now as a regular release. You got 14 metal textures, 18 cabochon textures, one of the rings comes with additional 9 gem textures and the option to separately choose the metal of the tiny flower leaves. This gives you up to 31752 possible combinations. So to speak, you get 32256 rings with this 3-ring-set. ^__^

And we sent out a little set of apatite earrings to the group, more about this later.
